GET UP, STAND UP, SHOW UP.

This year’s NAIDOC theme, GetUp! Stand Up Show Up! is powerful and timely.

The NAIDOC Committee’s vision for the theme is
that

‘We all must continue to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! for
systemic change and keep rallying around our mob, our Elders, our communities.

It must be a genuine commitment by all of us to Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up! and
support and secure institutional, structural, collaborative, and cooperative
reforms.

Getting Up, Standing Up, and Showing Up can take many forms.

We need to move beyond just acknowledgement, good intentions, empty
words and promises, and hollow commitments. Enough is enough.

The relationship between Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
and non‑Indigenous Australians needs to be based on justice, equity, and the
proper recognition of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights.”

This NAIDOC we encourage you to reflect on what is your commitment to
taking action so together we can Get Up! Stand Up! Show Up!

A message from us…

The team behind this event is made of a collective of Aboriginal
Health Promotion practitioners, personal trainers and communication gurus from
Clothing The Gaps and the Clothing The Gaps Foundation.

The team are seriously concerned about the rising levels of inactivity,
obesity and mental ill health in our Communities. We know the difference social
connection, physical activity and a positive routine can make in healing
ourselves.
